Six sampling campaigns were over 16 selected stretches river between February 2012 and June 2013. total 912 collected, 57% rainbow (Oncorhynchus mykiss), 33.3% brown (Salmo trutta), 9.6% brook (Salvelinus fontinalis). Also, tiger trutta × Salvelinus fontinalis) (a hybrid trout) recorded. Results showed that both shared same reaches river, with very similar feeding habits, while inhabited smaller more enclosed streams. Genetic Population Structure of Brook Trout Inhabiting a Large River Watershed

—The genetic population structure of brook trout Salvelinus fontinalis inhabiting the Miramichi River, New Brunswick, a large (14,000-km2) river system composed of three main stems, was assessed using six microsatellite DNA loci. Samples from 12 sites incorporating four temporal replicates were analyzed. An individual-based assignment method without a priori knowledge of geographic origin sugge...

Nutrients dynamics in the main river basins of the centre-southern region of Chile.

Chilean basins have long been exposed to nutrient discharges from human activities and land use changes. A historical seasonal NO(3)(-)-N and PO(4)(3-)-P database of the last 23 years of the main nine rivers of central-southern region of Chile was analysed. Generalized additive models indicated that annual trends in NO(3)(-)-N and PO(4)(3-)-P are nonlinear. River basins such as Bío-Bío, Bueno, ...
